Dear Patients
We hope this greeting finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through so much over the past few months, and all of us are looking forward to easing back to our normal lives. While many things have changed, one thing remains the same: our commitment to your health and safety.
Infection control has always been a priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office, this is especially true now. We will be updating and bolstering our infection control protocols to keep patients and staff safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We have been closely monitoring the recommendations of these agencies so that we are current on any new regulations or guidance.
To protect our patients and staff, you may notice some changes at your next appointment, for example:
You will be asked some basic screening questions both over the phone, as well as when you are in the office.
Please call the office upon your arrival so we may prepare to escort you in. We request all patients to wear face coverings at all times except during treatment.
We will ask you to use hand sanitizer when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other areas of the office for you to use as needed.
Your temperature will be taken when you arrive. Any patient with a temperature of 100֯ F or higher cannot be treated.
Clear safety barriers have been installed between the patient and reception area.
Our waiting room will no longer offer books, magazines or children’s toys since these are difficult to disinfect.
In the chair, patients will rinse with a hydrogen peroxide rinse for 30 seconds before any treatment.
Appointments will be managed to allow for physical distancing between patients. We will have fewer patients in the office at any one time. Unfortunately we might have fewer options for scheduling appointments.
Most important, WE LOVE OUR PATIENTS! We also love to chat with you at your appointment. Please understand that conversations may be reduced to allow for physical distancing, running on time, disinfection between patients, sterilization, etc.
We will take temperatures of every team member, including Dr. Pon and Dr. SooHoo, immediately upon arrival at work. Any team member with a temperature of 100֯ F or higher will go home. Every team member will answer a health questionnaire, just as our patients are required to answer, and will do so every day. If any questions disqualify the team member, they will be sent home following the same procedures we are asking our patients to follow.
We had to cancel many patients, and we know that there is a strong desire to get your treatment back on track as soon as possible. We ask for your patience and understanding. Please forgive us as we are focusing on getting each of you back on track while not exposing our team members or patients to unnecessary risk. We have resumed physical distanced dental care as of June 2, 2020. It may change if our official state and local leaders place new orders in the future due to the fluid and evolving situation.
We are very grateful for every one of our patients, and this time away has only served to make us even more thankful for each of you. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep everyone safe in our practice.
